The fact that we stayed in Jodhpur as long as we did was due only in part to our connections at Dream Team. Evelyn and I were both hit with flu symptoms and for three days one or both of us didn't make it out of the guest house. On our ninth day in Jodhpur we were both feeling better and ready to travel the next morning. We went down to Dream Team to take Ajay and Vishal and Pradeep out to dinner. But it wasn't to be. Too much was going on at the office and it was getting late. Ajay was to leave that night on a train to Delhi to attend a friend's wedding, and he hadn't had the time to select his attire or pack his bag.

Then from outside came the sounds of a marching band. This time it was a dual wedding—two grooms each on a white horse moving slowly in a procession down the street. The procession stopped just below Dream Team's third story window and we went down to watch. A second procession and a third groom came along and the two groups intermingled. Well-wishers reached up to place garlands around the grooms necks and to feed them mouthfuls of cake. The whole scene was brightly lit by battery-powered fluorescent lights.

The processions continued on. We said goodbye to Ajay, his dad and his friends and headed off in the opposite direction to pack and get some sleep before an early morning bus.
