Shanghai, perhaps the most densely populated city on the mainland, can be exhausting to explore. This photo captured for me what much of Shanghai symbolizes, embrace of Western culture contrasted with booming domestic commercialism, people tightly grouped with their own agendas, and urban stimuli in all directions.
